Welcome to Invent Health (#inventhealth)! We are finally bringing back our in-person events back! This time, we welcome MIT Club for Northern California for being one of our partners. Invent Health is a salon-styled tech talk and mixer where valuable lessons and insights are shared by investors, tech pioneers and adopters. Invent Health is designed to take a 360-degree view of one particular topic.
For this event, we look at value-based care. What is it? Simply stated, it’s paying for care through a qualitative lens vs quantitative. It’s a move toward a different payment model and away from transaction-based or fee-for-service models, which has led to high costs, over utilization and poor outcomes. However, despite the merits of value-based models, such as bundled payments, pay-for-performance, shared savings programs or capitation, broad adoption of value-based care remains elusive. In this event, we will hear perspectives from health insurers, large employers, health systems, and digital health providers about the opportunities and challenges of adopting value-based care. What will it take to achieve broad adoption and what do solution innovators need to know to thrive in this bimodal environment?
