Culture, Religion, and Technology Miami

October TBD, 2021 - 4 PM to 9 PM ET

Save the day! This fall in October, Vator, IronGate VC, Freedom Foundation, and The Economic Club of Miami, are pleased to announce the next: Culture, Religion, and Technology 2024.

We are living in surreal times with ideological warfare dividing the country. Technology has much to do with how information is pulling people vehemently apart. Cultural norms are being thrown out the window as traditionalists fight against a movement toward an egalitarian utopia.

Join us as we discuss culture, religion, technology, education, national security and free speech.

Our keynote speaker will be Peter Thiel, author of Zero to One; investor, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.

AGENDA

3:00 - 3:30pm – Welcome Reception (cocktails and hors d’oeuvres)

3:35 – 4:35 pm | Investing in technology that challenges or enhances our free will
Description: What does it mean to be human: To have the free will to make good decisions and bad ones. In order to exercise freedom to pursue virtue or vice, society should organize around a governing structure that understands human nature: that good and evil reside within. This acknowledges that rising centralized government power is more likely to lead to corruption than distributed power across the private sector. Society thrives when our free will is liberated. How does tech do this?

4:40 - 5:40pm | The future of education
Description: Why are our students entitled and arrogant, and yet underperforming academically? What’s happened to our public school systems and what can we do to bring the marketplace of ideas to education?

5:40-6:00 pm | (Heavy hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails)

6:00-6:15pm | Welcome and introduction to Fireside I Paul Martino

6:15 – 7:30 pm | Culture, Religion and Technology | Fireside Chat - Peter Thiel and Bambi Francisco Roizen

7:30 – 8:30 pm | Q+A

7:30 – 9:00 pm | Reception
