Becoming Us Group Sessions

Weathering the storm and preparing for the new normal

This is a program to help professionals build mental resilience through these surreal times filled with an unprecedented lockdown, lost opportunity, soul-searching protests and political unrest. As we transition to a new normal, which may never look like the old normal again, we hope this program helps us become better people as we journey together through this shared struggle.

As Gandalf said in The Lord of the Rings, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

This series was originally for our entrepreneur and innovator community. But given the topic, it's for any human, really. It builds on this article written by Bambi Francisco Roizen: In the new normal, who do we become? You can join one event or an entire series. Or if you like it, attend however many you'd like. It's up to you!

How does it work? A moderator will interview a therapist about a given topic, and they'll discuss actionable tips not just on how to deal with our current circumstance but why we are put in these situations.

Participants can:

1) Be anonymous and just listen and learn

2) Be anonymous and ask questions in the chat or Q&A section

3) Be visible and share their story or ask questions

Understanding why we have storms in our life vs how to weather the storm might help us be prepared for the new normal and future storms. This series is brought to you by Betterhelp. To participate, select the dates you’re interested in attending, or buy the entire program. See the therapist and the moderators.

July - Fear and Anxiety:

For the first time ever, the world was forced into lockdown via Shelter in Place. We're all dealing with some fear of the unknown, anxiety, grief, loneliness, restlessness. At the end of the day, the root cause of our fears is losing what we have and being alone. But we can build resilience through solitude and constraints. See the therapist and the moderators.
